Talladega Superspeedway

Mitchell Williams added a fifth win of the season to his résumé at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, guiding the #54 machine to victory lane from a seventh-place starting position in the ATC O'Reilly Auto Parts Series' 55-lap Round 15. Williams led 9 of those 55 laps — the laps that mattered most — as the race produced six lead changes across an 18-car field that ran entirely clean, with zero cautions from green to checkered. Pole-sitter Kaiden Robitaille in the #90 was dominant in terms of raw lap leadership, pacing the field for 34 laps, but ultimately had to settle for second at the finish, a result that stings given how much of the race he spent at the front.

David Burcicki brought the #92 home in third after starting fifth, leading 10 laps of his own and completing an all-around strong showing. Behind him, Riley Bennett in the #62 delivered one of the more impressive runs of the afternoon, advancing seven positions from 11th on the grid to fourth at the finish and even leading a lap along the way. Andrew Marsh in the #81 rounded out the top eight with a solid two-position gain from his 10th starting spot, also crediting himself with a lap led.

The hard charger award belonged to #2 Mikal Jones, who sliced through the field from 13th on the starting grid to a fifth-place finish — a gain of eight positions on a track where clean, incident-free racing rewards patience and positioning. Jones recorded zero incidents across all 55 laps, making his charge as disciplined as it was effective. On the other end of the ledger, #09 Isaiah Fox fell 14 positions from fourth to 18th, while #27 Justin Frazier dropped 10 spots from second on the grid to 12th at the flag.

In the playoff standings, Williams' victory extended his points lead to 184, putting him 12 points clear of #81 Andrew Marsh at 172. Larry Millard sits third at 149 following a 10th-place finish, while Justin Frazier and Sean Timothy are deadlocked at 127 points in fourth and fifth respectively. With Williams continuing to accumulate wins at a rate no one in the ATC O'Reilly Auto Parts Series can currently match, the gap at the top of the standings is becoming an increasingly difficult conversation for the rest of the field.
