Clayton Davis delivered the signature result of his ATC Truck Series career at Chicagoland Speedway on Friday night, taking the checkered flag in the Round 9 feature to score his first win in the series. Starting from the pole in the #88 truck, Davis did not control the race from the front — Mitchell Williams in the #54 led a race-high 58 of 106 laps, and Patrick Camburn's #48 added 16 more to the ledger across a race that saw 15 lead changes under six cautions. Davis led just two laps when it counted most, converting the final restart or sequence of events into a victory that Williams and Camburn could not answer.

Williams's night was a near-miss that will sting. The #54 led more than half the race's green-flag distance and crossed the stripe third, held off at the line by Jordan Traas's #79 for second place. Traas, who came from 23rd on the grid to finish second, led 11 laps of his own en route to a P2 result — his fifth win of the season narrowly avoided, but a podium nonetheless that keeps the points pressure building. Camburn, who had been running near the front after starting third, ultimately slipped to 11th after leading 16 laps, a significant points swing in a night that began with promise.

The hard charger award belonged to Austin Coop in the #99, who launched from the 28th and final starting position to finish fifth — a gain of 23 spots across 106 laps. Coop ran a clean race with zero incidents, and his top-five was matched in the forward-charge category by Frank Caruso's #12, who also went incident-free from 25th to seventh for an 18-position gain. Charles Van Schaick in the #23 added a 12-spot climb from 16th to fourth, giving the back half of the field four of the top five finishing positions on the night.

In the standings, Ian Blanchard holds the points lead at 246 after finishing sixth in the #74, but his advantage over Trevor Brownlee in the #75 is just five points — Brownlee faded to 19th on the night after starting fourth, a result that cost him ground. Jordan Traas sits third at 235, now 11 points back of Blanchard, while Mitchell Williams's third-place run moved the #54 to fourth in points at 227. Patrick Camburn's difficult finish dropped him to fifth at 210, leaving a 36-point gap to the leader. With the top four covered by 19 points heading into Round 10, the ATC Truck Series points fight has no margin for error.
