Mitchell Williams put together a dominant Sunday afternoon at World Wide Technology Raceway, wheeling the #54 machine to victory in Round 9 of the ATC O'Reilly Auto Parts Series. Williams, who started from the pole position, led 88 of 90 laps in a clean, incident-free performance at the 1.25-mile oval in Madison, Illinois. With just two lead changes on the day and zero cautions across the entire 90-lap distance, the race was a study in controlled aggression from the front, and Williams converted his pole start into a commanding result. It was his second win of the season and fifth all-time in the series.

The fight for the podium behind Williams was tightly contested throughout. #81 Andrew Marsh, who started alongside Williams on the front row in P2, couldn't hold off #29 Judson Curtis, who charged from his third-place starting spot to claim the runner-up finish. Curtis, the series points leader, added 35 points to his tally in a result that keeps his standings position rock-solid. Marsh settled for third — his first podium finish in the series — while #27 Justin Frazier delivered a strong fourth-place run from a fifth-place starting spot, finishing ahead of #16 Derek Rausch, who slipped one position from where he started.

The hard charger award went to #49 Zachary Mullen, who advanced three positions from ninth on the grid to sixth at the checkered flag. Mullen's run stood as the most ground gained of any driver in the field on a day where clean air and track position proved especially valuable. Behind him, #65 Larry Millard held his seventh-place starting spot exactly, accounting for the other two laps led in the race. #51 Dayton Wheeler had the toughest afternoon, dropping four spots from sixth to tenth and picking up two incidents along the way.

In the standings battle, Curtis now leads Williams by 49 points through nine rounds of competition. Williams's win trimmed what was a larger deficit, but Curtis's second-place result meant he still extended his advantage heading into the back half of the season. Justin Frazier sits third at 206 points, 93 back of the leader, while David Burcicki and Sean Timothy occupy fourth and fifth respectively, separated by just two points. With the series still in full swing, the gap between Curtis and Williams makes every remaining round critical for the #54 team's hopes of closing the deficit.
