Round 7 of the ATC Truck Series at Legacy Texas Motor Speedway produced one of the most unpredictable results of the season, as #29 Judson Curtis charged from 15th on the starting grid to take the win in what was a first victory of his career in this series. Curtis led just 5 of the race's 105 laps, but those 5 laps were the ones that counted, as the race's nine lead changes across a 36-truck field created a fluid, chaotic afternoon in Fort Worth. Three cautions for nine combined laps bunched the field repeatedly and reshuffled the running order throughout the event, keeping strategy and track position at a premium for every team in the garage.
Pole-sitter #22 Abbrom Ghoston led a race-high 39 laps and appeared to be the truck to beat through much of the afternoon, but a fifth-place finish was all he had to show for it after falling back in the closing stages. #23 Charles Van Schaick put together a strong run from 11th on the grid, leading 23 laps and ultimately finishing second — the first podium result of his career in this series — while #25 Bryce Shoemaker was another factor at the front, leading 24 laps before fading to fifth at the checkered flag. #48 Patrick Camburn rounded out the podium in third after starting sixth, delivering a clean race with zero incidents across the 105-lap distance at the 1.5-mile oval.
The performance of the night, however, belonged to #49 Zachary Mullen, who earned hard charger honors by advancing 23 positions from 34th on the grid all the way to 11th at the finish. Mullen's run through the field over 105 laps was the most dramatic position swing of any driver in the 36-truck field, and despite accumulating six incidents along the way, the result still represents a significant points haul. Also worth noting was #98 Raymond Bell, who started 25th and came home ninth, gaining 16 spots, and #21 Shaun Dionne, who drove from 35th to 21st without a single incident on his sheet.
In the standings, #74 Ian Blanchard holds the points lead at 200 after an eighth-place finish, with #75 Trevor Brownlee four points back at 196 following a 17th-place run — a result that allowed Blanchard to extend his advantage by a small margin. #Mitchell Williams sits third at 190 points, keeping the battle at the top extremely tight with four points separating first from third. Judson Curtis's win vaults him to a tie for fourth in points at 173 alongside Jordan Traas, and with the top five separated by just 27 points, every position on the track will matter when the series returns to action.
